In "A Christmas Carol," miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, who show him the error of his ways, his lonely future, and the joy he is missing. Through these encounters, Scrooge transforms from a bitter, cold-hearted man into a kind, generous one, embracing the Christmas spirit and the importance of compassion.
